Chinese University of Hong Kong
The OESO-SEMPIRE pilot center at the Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong is a leading academic institution in the region. The center provides comprehensive clinical service from benign to malignant oesophago-gastric disorders. The center also focuses on research and innovation, especially on advanced novel endoscopic and surgical interventions. The center first introduced MIE and robotic assisted MIE in the region, and was the founding member of the Upper Gastrointestinal International Robotic Association. Important research was published on robotic surgery, especially on artificial intelligence and surgical automation. We also performed the first upper GI ESD in the region, and is now leading multiple multi-center studies on advanced endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic full thickness resection, anti-reflux procedures and EUS guided interventions.
