The Gastrointestinal Function and Motility Laboratory at Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia (HPUSM) is a specialized center dedicated to the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal motility disorders and disorders of gut–brain interaction. This laboratory has expertise in esophageal physiology, including high-resolution esophageal manometry, esophageal mucosal impedance examination and ambulatory reflux monitoring, supporting the assessment of dysphagia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, belching disorders and other complex esophageal presentations. It integrates advanced physiological testing with multidisciplinary clinical care, education and research. As an academic and training center, the Laboratory also provides research and clinical training for PhD candidates and gastroenterology trainees from Malaysia and abroad, contributing to the advancement of neurogastroenterology and motility expertise within Malaysia and internationally.
